Johnny Cash was born in the small town of Kingsland, Arkansas
On February 26-12 -1932,
Johnny Cash was writing, Poems, Songs and Stories,
Despite working other jobs to help his Family,
Johnny Cash had his heart set on a music creer to this end,
He entered talented contest and sang any time,
And anywhere peopple would listen,
When Johnny Cash graduated from high school in 1950,
And with the Korean War raging,
He enlisted in the united States Air Force,
While in the service,
He formed a club band The Barbarians,
Which played in small night clubs near the air base,
When Johnny Cash's service ended,
Johnny Cash moved to Memphis,
Where he sold appliances,
Door to door while trying to break into the music business.

In 1954,Johnny Cash auditioned as solo artist ,
For Sam Phillip's Sun Records,
His hopes were to record Gospel music,
Sam Phillips nixed that idea,
Telling Johnny Cash that was something that wouldn't sell,
The folowing spring, Cash and the Tennessee,
Two wre in the studio recording "Hey Porter",
His first release for Sun Label,
Though an impressive single, the song failed to chart.
His recording of "Cry, Cry, Cru" hit the Billboard's Top Twenty,
A long succession of chart singles followed,
"So Doggone Lonsome" and Folsom Prison Blues",
Both broke into the trade publications's Top Ten.

But Johnny's fourth single proved to be his career song,
"l Walk The Line", went to Billboard's No 1,
Position and remained on the charts for 43 weeks,
Selling over two million copies,
By 1957 had Johnny Cash racked up an impressive string,
Of hits and was working more than 200 dates a year,
That same year, he was invited to perform on the Grand Ole Opry,

The following year he switched to Columbia Records,
In search of more freedo,
He still wanted to make Gospel,
And felt he had a better chance achieving,
His goal with another record label.
Throughout the remainder of the fifties,
And into the sixties Cash continued ,
To produce remarkable records and charted consistently,
"Don't Take Your Guns to Town",
"l God Stripes, and Ring of Fire",

A fourth Rubin produced effort, a Gospel album,
Was in the can, while a new three disc retrospective,
"Love, God, Murder",
Together with expanded editions of his two seminal,
"Prison" albums 1968,"At Folsom Prison",
And 1969 "At San Quentin had shed fresh light on his singular,
Four and a half decade history,
As a recording artist and bona fide American icon,
In 1997 was Johnny Cash received two Grammy nominations,
"Unchained: was nominated for Album of the Year,
And the song "Rusty Cage",written by Leonard Cohen,
Was nominated for Song of the Year.

In March 1998, with just one finger Johnny Cash was raising,
Eyebrows and turning heads in the Country music World,
A full page ad in Billboard magazine showed Cash "Giving the Finger"
With the caption "American Recordings,
Johnny Cash would like to acknowledge the Nashville music establishment,
And country radio for your support,
The ad also congratulated Johnny Cash for winning ,
A Grammy Award for Best Country Album Unchained.
Johnny Cash was a Great man,
"We learned more from Johnny Cash than you can learn,
From any other one single person,
Johnny Cash was our higher education in the music business.
